What Is Tim Norman’s Net Worth?
Tim Norman is an American entrepreneur, musician, and reality television personality who has a net worth of $50 thousand. Tim Norman is best known for appearing on the Oprah Winfrey Network reality show “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” (2011–2018) and for being sentenced to life in prison for his involvement in a murder plot that led to the death of his nephew Andre Montgomery Jr. Tim has also appeared on “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” (2008), “Access Daily” (2014; 2016), and “The Real” (2015–2016).
Early Life
Tim Norman was born on July 13, 1979, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was raised by his mother, Robbie Montgomery, a former professional singer who opened a soul food restaurant, Sweetie Pie’s, after her singing career ended due to a collapsed lung. Norman ran into trouble in his late teens and ended up serving a ten-year prison sentence for armed robbery. When he was released from prison, Tim made the decision to change his life and began working for his mother’s restaurant.
Career
As the popularity of the restaurant grew, Tim began working at Sweetie Pie’s at the Mangrove. In 2012, he took over management of that location, as his mother opened a new business, The Upper Crust. In addition to his work at Sweetie Pie’s, he is also a musician and producer. He is one of the subjects of the Oprah Winfrey Network reality series “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s,” which followed the day-to-day operations of the popular restaurant. The show aired from 2011 to 2018, and it won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Reality Series in 2013 and 2016. Robbie sued Tim in 2016 for “stealing money and misusing her trademarks to open competing restaurants.” In 2019, Norman was sued by Kensinger Properties, which claimed that he breached their contract after he took a lease out for a Houston location with the company. Kensinger Properties alleged that Tim owed them more than $200,000 in back taxes and other fees.
Personal Life
Norman has been very active in his local community, helping to create jobs for newly paroled and homeless residents and providing food to those in need. He has participated in several youth-oriented organizations, such as the Boys & Girls Club, where he worked with at-risk youth to help inspire self-confidence and guide them down a positive life path. Tim has received several state and city awards for assisting his community and for good citizenship. Norman welcomed son TJ with then-girlfriend Jenae Wallick in 2011. During a 2020 question and answer session on Instagram, Jenae said that Tim was abusive during their relationship.
Arrests and Life Sentence
Norman was arrested in 2018 for allegedly punching a former employee the previous year. In August 2020, he was arrested again, this time for his alleged involvement in a murder-for-hire plot that led to the death of his nephew Andre Montgomery Jr. in 2016. Tim was the sole beneficiary of an insurance policy on Andre Jr. (who was 21 years old at the time of his murder), and he reportedly recruited exotic dancer Terica Ellis and others to help with the murder plot. Norman was found guilty in September 2022. His mother wrote a letter asking for leniency in Tim’s sentencing, stating, “I don’t know whether Tim did what he was accused and convicted of. He is still the baby that I bore, and I love him as every mother involved loves their child.” In March 2023, Norman received two life sentences, and Judge John A. Ross told him that the crime was “a cold-blooded, incredibly premeditated, planned execution of your nephew.”
