Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and Minister of State for Petroleum, Heineken Lokpobiri, paid a condolence visit to the residence of the late Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe.
They were joined by other well-wishers to offer their condolences to Pastor Shyngle Wigwe and his wife, Stella Wigwe, over the loss of their son, daughter-in-law, and grandson.
Also present at the residence were prominent Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote and former Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede.
The tragic incident occurred last Friday when a plane carrying Wigwe, his family, former chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Abimbola Ogunbanjo, and two others crashed near a small town in California’s Mojave Desert. The crash took place around 10 pm while the aircraft was traveling from Palm Springs, California, to Boulder City, Nevada.
According to US authorities, witness reports indicate that it was raining at the time of the helicopter crash near the Nevada border in California. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the authorities.
