Tension is on the rise as Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, is set to return to his residence in Soka, Ibadan, on Saturday, in what could be termed a homecoming after three years.
The occasion marks the first visit of the activist to his residence since his departure from the country three years ago. Igboho’s return is part of the concluding ceremony for the burial of his late mother, where he will host top dignitaries and supporters.
Igboho, currently in his native town of Igboho, fled the country following a deadly attack on his residence in Ibadan on July 1, 2021. After being granted bail by a Beninese Court last year, he had been residing in Germany.
His return coincides with the funeral arrangements for his late mother, who passed away last year. Confirming his return, Igboho’s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, stated, “It is true that he is back in the country…He has to come back home to bury his mother who passed on last year and Thursday was her wake keep and Friday is the burial ceremony in Igboho before he will move to Ibadan for the entertainment of guests on Saturday.”
Koiki further emphasized that all arrangements have been made to ensure a dignified burial for Igboho’s mother, with eminent Nigerians and dignitaries expected to attend. However, it remains uncertain whether Igboho’s return will be permanent or if he will return to his base in Germany after the ceremony. The post JUST IN: Tension As Igboho Heads Back To His Base In Ibadan After Landing In Nigeria first appeared on Newsdirect.
