Maite Perroni is a Mexican actress and singer-songwriter who has a net worth of $6 million.

Maite Perroni is originally rose to fame as a member of the Latin Grammy-nominated Latin pop group, RBD. She went on to become an actress with roles in shows like “Antes muerta que Lichita,” “Dark Desire,” and “Rebelde.” She also embarked upon her career as a solo artist and released her debut solo album, “Eclipse de Luna,” in 2013.

Early Life

Maite Perroni was born on March 9, 1983 in Mexico City, Mexico but grew up in Guadalajara until the age of 12. Her family then moved back to Mexico City. She was raised with her two younger brothers, Adolfo and Francisco. As a child in school, she was involved in acting, art, singing, and dancing. After graduating from high school, Perroni signed up for the Centro de Educación Artistica, an acting school run by Televisa. She completed the course in two years and then graduated.

Career

Soon after graduating from the acting program, she landed the role of Guadalupe “Lupita” Fernandez in the Mexican telenovela “Rebelde.” She was one of six protagonists on the show, which lasted for three seasons from 2004 to 2006, releasing 440 episodes. Just after the completion of show, a Barbie doll version of Perroni’s character was released in 2007.

The show also spawned the popularity of the Mexican Latin pop group “RBD,” of which Perroni was a member. The group achieved international success from 2004 until they separated in 2009, selling over 15 million records worldwide. They released five studio albums during this time and became one of the best-selling Latin groups of all time.

Following the success of “Rebelde,” Televisa released “RBD: La Familia,” which starred all the members of RBD. The characters of the sitcom were not based on the band’s characters in “Rebelde” but were rather intended to be more similar to the actors’ real personalities. The show was the first Mexican show shot entirely in high definition and ran throughout the summer of 2007, releasing a total of 13 episodes.

In 2008, Perroni starred as the lead character in “Cuidado con el angel” along with William Levy. The show achieved great success around the world. She also starred in her third leading role in “Mi Pecado” opposite Eugenio Siller. Additionally, she was part of the third season of “Mujeres Asesinas.” In 2009, Perroni was informally named the new queen of telenovelas by Univision.

In 2010, she landed a main role in “Triunfo del amor” as Maria Gutierrez. The show was a remake of the Venezuelan class “Cristal.” In 2012, she was confirmed to star with Pedro Fernandez in “Cachito de Cielo,” her fifth leading role. In 2014, she landed her next leading role in a telenovela called “La Gata” along with Daniel Arenas, Erika Buenfil, and Laura Zapata. Given her abundance of starring roles in the recent years, the Spanish-language version of “People” magazine named Perroni the queen of Mexican telenovelas.

In 2015, Perroni landed her seventh lead role opposite Arath De La Torre in “Antes muerta que Lichita.” It became a hit right away in Mexico and the United States. She promoted the show throughout North America, where she had developed a huge fanbase. In 2017, she had her next major role in “Papa a toda madre” opposite Sebastian Rulli. In 2018, she appeared in the film “Dibujando el cielo.” The following year, she appeared in and produced “Doblemente embarazada.”

From 2019 to 2021, she appeared in a main role in “El juego de las llaves.” She also had a main role in “Herederos por accidente” in 2020 and appeared as herself in “Como sobrevivir soltero.” From 2020 to 2022, she appeared in 33 episodes of “Oscuro deseo.” In 2024, she appeared in the film “El roomie.”

In addition to her acting career, Perroni translated her early musical success with RBD into a solo music career. She recorded several songs over the years that were used in the various telenovelas that she appeared in. In 2012, she announced her debut solo album, “Eclipse de Luna.” The album was released in 2013 and reached the second spot on the US Latin Pop charts.

Perroni lives in Los Angeles, California. From 2013 to 2020, she was in a relationship with Chilean musician and producer, Koko Stambuk. In 2021, Perroni began dating producer Andrés Tovar. They announced their engagement in September 2022 and got married on October 9, 2022. In January 2023, Perroni announced she was pregnant with the couple’s first child. They welcomed their daughter, Lia, in May of that year.
